podcasts for women over 50

Do you enjoy listening to podcasts? They are quite similar to talk radio but listened to from your phone, tablet, or computer. You control what you want to listen to and when you want to listen.

People from all walks of life record themselves talking about a niche subject or interview experts in a particular field. There is a podcast for every single interest in the world! Podcasts are easy to listen to from your home, in the car, or even while grocery shopping.

I like listening to podcasts with my headphones so I concentrate better and don’t get distracted. My best times are when I’m doing work around the house, hiking, or driving (of course, with Bluetooth and not the headphones in the car).

I asked my girlfriends which podcasts they enjoy listening to, and I got some interesting answers. For example, my sister is an artist and likes to listen to true crime and murder podcasts while she works on her beautiful paintings. Yes, I was quite surprised, to say the least.

What Are Podcasts

Podcasts are basically talk radio and are more popular than ever. From A-list celebrities to the girl next door, everyone can record podcasts and upload them on the internet.

Generally, the person producing the podcast is equipped with a microphone and a computer. That’s basically all someone needs to create a podcast. A second microphone is often used when the podcast is conversational or when a person is being interviewed, much like a radio station.

Podcasts can be about sports, books, food, politics, traveling, crime and law, international news, and so much more.

Interesting how the word was conceived after the invention of the iPod.

Typically, the podcaster specializes in a niche subject and uploads regularly to a platform.

Where to Listen to Podcasts

Most podcasts are free, but some creators or platforms may charge a subscription fee.

Here are a few places where you can find and listen to all your favorite podcasts.
