Shoppers Say This Multifunctional Cleansing Balm & Makeup Remover Is A Total ‘Game Changer’—Here’s How

After getting home from a long day of work, the last thing you want to do is remove your makeup and wash your face. It can sometimes become a monotonous task that almost feels like a burden. But it doesn’t have to feel that way, especially when you can skip a few steps and use just one item to scrub off your makeup and double cleanse. Let us bring you in on a secret to saving time, energy, and money when you’re tired AF and can’t be bothered to walk through your entire skincare routine: Youth To The People’s new Superberry Dream Cleansing Balm.

This multifunctional formula quickly removes layers of makeup and sunscreen from your skin, without stripping it dry. Because while it is an effective makeup remover, it also functions as a cleansing balm and can remove excess oils and impurities. This is probably why shoppers call it a “game changer.”

“My skin has felt more vibrant, soft, and youthful in the mornings, and I cannot recommend this product enough!” wrote one reviewer.

This cleansing balm works like magic by gently taking off all your makeup while still providing a bunch of skin benefits. A blend of moringa, jojoba, and sunflower seed oils melts away your makeup and sunscreen, but they’re also packed with omegas, antioxidants, and vitamins, so they won’t strip your skin of moisture. They also level your oil production and smooth your complexion.

Another group of ingredients, superberry extracts, are enriched with lots of antioxidants to protect your skin from damage. These magical maqui, acai, and goji berries join forces with oil-soluble hyaluronic acid to deliver hydration deep into your skin.

The formula has a ton of natural ingredients that cleanse and moisturize your complexion, without leaving it feeling greasy. It’s also gentle enough for those with sensitive skin and is safe to use around the eyes.

Using it is simple, too. With dry hands, rub the balm onto your dry skin. You’ll notice the texture will feel more like an oil. Then, splash some water onto your hands and keep massaging the product into your skin as it transforms into a milky cleanser. You can use this balm on its own or as part of your double cleanse.

Several reviewers, like this one, had never used a cleansing balm before, but said that this formula turned them into believers. “This is going to save me so much money on face wash, as I was double or triple cleansing to get all my makeup off,” they wrote. “I highly recommend, and will be purchasing again!”

You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain from this multifunctional cleansing balm. So, why not give it a chance?

Losing a Loved One: Another Year, Another Empty Chair

Losing-a-Loved-One

I love Thanksgiving. It is my favorite holiday of the entire year. I try to live a life filled with gratitude, and it’s special to have a day set aside for giving thanks – even though I practice it every day.

This year, my estranged daughter will once again not be home. This year was predictably cruel.

Yes, she was coming home. Then she wasn’t. Yes, she wanted to be picked up. No, a friend would drive her.

Then, nothing.

It’s a familiar dance. She seems to be dancing closer, then veers off into space. We’ve been through it so many times that my heart wearied at the thought of even beginning this iteration of the dance. But I did, because I want her to know she is loved, and it came to a predictable crashing end.

The Empty Chair

Her empty chair used to make me cry for days. There is no pain like the pain of an abandoned parent. I have experienced lots of different kinds of pain in life – deaths, cancer in the family, serious illness and many family problems. But the pain of a mother whose child wants nothing to do with her is unique.

I have cried for years. Sometimes the deep sobbing would leave me debilitated for days.

I hid from family and friends. I felt that others could not understand what I was going through. Some cruel comments and outright rejection confirmed this.

But I have learned to live again.

How?

Learning to Live Again

I’ll be completely honest: It took therapy and hard work. It took more crying and learning to let go. It took accepting that there were things I could not change, that I had no control over. And it took looking up and away from the empty chair to shift my gaze to all the blessings that remained.

When facing this situation, we have a choice. We can wallow in our sorrow and allow our child’s cruelty to destroy us. Or we can pick ourselves up and live a good life beyond the pain.

In this life, we will have pain. We’re human. We can’t escape it. The task of life is to live with the pain and live beyond the pain because we can’t escape the pain. The triumph of life is to live well in spite of the pain.

Living Well

The holiday season is just beginning. How can you live it well?

Be prepared for your own emotional slump

The holidays can be a triggering time. You will feel the loss of your child. Let yourself feel it, but not get lost in it.

Honor your memories, but don’t be a slave to them

Families are filled with memories and hopefully you have many good ones. Memories honor the past. They do not have to define the future. Just because you always did something one way does not mean you need to always do things that way.

Think about some new things you can to do celebrate the holiday:

  • Go out to a nice dinner instead of cooking;
  • Volunteer somewhere for part of the day;
  • Start new traditions, like going to the movies or playing new board games.

Enjoy what you have instead of what you’ve lost

Keep yourself focused on the present moment and enjoy the people who are with you. Enter fully into conversations and be present for the other person, instead of letting your mind ruminate over your loss.

Be kind to yourself

If you know you will have an emotional time, take extra good care of yourself. Can you take a day to pamper yourself before facing parties and events? Can you say no to tasks or activities that drain you?

Move the Chair

For yet another year, my daughter’s chair will be empty. But this time I have decided to move the chair to another room. What will remain around my table will have my full attention. I will focus on the love I have rather than the love I lost.

My daughter knows the door will always be open. She knows that the chair can always be brought back to the table. But she also knows that the chasing, begging, pleading, bargaining and haranguing are over. The ball is in her court.

I will look up occasionally to see if she is lobbing the ball back to me. But unless and until she does, the party will go on, and I will be fully present for it. And I will be grateful for the time I had with her. And I will be grateful for the healing I have claimed from her.

If you are a parent of an estranged adult child, I invite you to connect with like-minded parents at the Facebook group, Parents of Estranged Adult Children. We get it and will warmly welcome you.

Are you facing an empty chair in your family celebrations this year? How have you learned to cope with this? What strategies have you developed? Please join the conversation below.

Lisa Barlow’s Taupe Ribbed Turtleneck

Lisa Barlow’s Taupe Ribbed Turtleneck on the Way to Vail

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 2 Episode 10 Fashion

I LOVE the colour of Lisa Barlow’s ribbed turtleneck top that we get to see on the way to Vail on this week’s episode of RHOSLC; it reminds me of MAC’s “Satin Taupe” eyeshadow (IYKYK), which is the perfect shade for all of us brown-eyed brunettes. And although I may not be able to get my hands on the real thing any longer, needless to say I definitely have my eye on the similar-hued Style Stealers down below.*

Fashionably,

Faryn

* Despite being called “Stealers” they are totally legal to buy so there’s definitely no need to consult with your lawyer(s).

Just Do It! From Slogan to Action Plan

Just-Do-It-From-Slogan-to-Action-Plan

“I know I want to think ahead but somehow, I can’t get started.” Sound familiar? Probably. For some, procrastination seems to be a way of life.

Dr. Joseph Ferrari is a professor of psychology at DePaul University in Chicago. He’s a leading international researcher in the study of procrastination. His research shows that 20 percent of the men and women in the U.S. are chronic procrastinators. But even if putting things off is only an occasional stumbling block it can prove to be a dilemma, especially for those of us facing our next challenge – Life 2.0.

Consider the “GPS” formula found in a recently published book, Get Organized, Get Focused, Get Moving. This GPS formula stands for Goals, Priorities, and Scheduling. It can help people get things done whether it’s writing a report, reorganizing an office or even planning life after retirement.

4 Very Important Questions

Sometimes it seems just getting started is the biggest obstacle you face when tackling a daunting task. To be successful you must have a plan. Here are four questions to always consider as you prepare for retirement or any other task or transition:

  • What is the ultimate goal?
  • What is the plan for reaching that goal?
  • What are the priorities?
  • How are you going to make it happen?

In life, you may have many goals. They change over time but hopefully those goals will always be important enough to motivate you to stick with them and not get sidetracked. You need to emotionally “own” the goals and make the commitment to see them through.

Follow Your GPS

To make GPS work, you must formally start the process. That will often mean you must take baby steps first. But even those small steps will start the process.

Follow through with the plan. Express your goal for the process in explicit terms. Outline and prioritize the steps you will take to reach your goal. Develop a realistic schedule for completing the plan.

Keep in mind that even the experts in the field sometimes have problems getting started.

How many times have you heard about writer’s block? Here is one story fellow authors can easily recognize. You set what you think is a realistic deadline for completing a book. When you miss that deadline, you set another for the month after. You miss that deadline, too. You seem to be getting nowhere.

Finally, you arbitrarily pick one chapter from the book outline you have already crafted. You decide to write just one sentence to start that chapter. Four hours later you have finished that complete chapter. The next day you pick another chapter with the intent to write just one sentence.

It takes you just three-and-a-half hours to complete that chapter. After that it is merely “rinse and repeat.” That’s how you finish the book. You have a plan and you work it.

Typing that first sentence was the hardest part but perhaps unknowingly you followed Mark Twain’s advice. He said, “The secret of getting started is breaking your complex, overwhelming tasks into small, manageable tasks and starting on the first one.”

It’s Up to You

Certainly, you don’t have to have your life planned to the last minute, but when you don’t have some sort of plan and system for time management it’s like shooting here and there instead of shooting at the target. That’s why GPS is important. It leads you to set logical goals. It helps you prioritize tasks you must accomplish. It allows you to schedule and plan your time wisely. Then it’s up to you to Just Do It!

What is one task you have been putting off and what is one thing you could do to get started? What seems to be a bottleneck right now and what could be a workaround? What tools do you use to prioritize tasks? Do you have your own personal GPS – Goals, Priorities, and Scheduling? How are you using it? Please share with the community in the comments.
