11 Latinx-Owned Beauty Brands You Should Be Shopping All Year Round

Every year, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15. It’s a good time to amplify Latinx voices and brands to have on your radar well after the celebrations are over. Here at STYLECASTER, there are 10 Latinx beauty brands we can’t get enough of—and that’s just the start. This is not even close to a comprehensive list. It’s crazy to think that only about 1 percent of Latino-owned businesses launched between 2007 and 2012 in the U.S. received VC funding or angel investments, according to a report by the Stanford Graduate School of Business and reported on by CNN. 1 percent. That’s why highlighting these brands is so important.

Just getting a company started is a challenge but these Latinx-owned brands flourished, with many starting to sell their haircare, skin care and makeup on the shelves of Target, Walmart or Sephora. That’s seriously major. These retailers make it easier than ever to support Latinx-owned businesses while you’re running errands. You can’t go wrong with an Alamar Cosmetics bronzing palette or Reina Rebelde liquid eyeliner.

Be sure to shop from even smaller brands too, such as Elba Vegan Skincare and Ella’s Eve Cosmetics. These small-batch brands won’t let you down—especially when it comes to grabbing gifts for others. The holidays are just around the corner, after all.

Our mission at STYLECASTER is to bring style to the people, and we only feature products we think you’ll love as much as we do. Please note that if you purchase something by clicking on a link within this story, we may receive a small commission of the sale.

ColourPop’s ‘Hocus Pocus’ Collection Is BACK & Includes the Iconic Black Flame Candle

Let’s all agree, Halloween 2020 was a bit of a fail. We were figuring out how to celebrate the spooky season at home. This year, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to get out and about to show off your look. ColourPop’s second Hocus Pocus collection is here to make that even better. If you weren’t able to grab the sold-out line the first time, you’re in luck. The second drop features an entirely new assortment of products — but that’s not all. There will be a limited restock of last year’s items, too! Channel the Sanders Sides (costume idea?) with a limited-edition line with fall-ready shades and textures. Per usual with Colourpop, the packaging is too cute for words.

Our mission at STYLECASTER is to bring style to the people, and we only feature products we think you’ll love as much as we do. Please note that if you purchase something by clicking on a link within this story, we may receive a small commission of the sale.

The 1993 film is iconic for its somewhat campy witches played by favorites Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker. Weirdly at the time, it wasn’t a huge hit and was mostly critically panned. But in the past 28 years (!!!), it’s become a sensation and a must-watch around Halloween. Now, you can have it on your TV while you create hilarious TikToks with the Colourpop collection.

To be honest, this year’s collection looks even better than the last. The “Coven Crew” line includes a new 12-pan eyeshadow palette with creamy mattes and shimmering metallics, three new shades of Super Shock Shadow, three new shades of the hybrid formula Fresh Kiss Lip Crème, a spider QT Mark Face Stamp, a Binx-inspired handheld mirror, and the brand’s first-ever candle, inspired by the film’s iconic Black Flame Candle.

Tracy Tutor looks absolutely fab in her orange silk outfit. I love a good matching set and I love it even more when it’s a fun color. Unfortunately the orange pants are already off the market and the top isn’t to far behind them. BUT there are other colors available along with Style Stealers below that are worth removing contingencies for and welcoming into their new home.

Sincerely Stylish,

Jess

Smashbox Just Saved Becca’s Most Iconic Products Including Champagne Pop

Earlier this month, we rounded up our favorite Becca Champagne Pop Highlighter dupes as we mourned the loss of the brand. While those affordable options still work great, Champagne Pop is actually here to stay! Smashbox just announced it’s saving two of the most iconic Becca products. Not only did Smashbox grab Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop and Under Eye Brightening Corrector, it actually made some improvements to the later option with an expanded shade range.

Champagne Pop is so popular because of the way it works across all skin tones. It’s a soft white gold with pink-peach undertones that’s truly universally flattering. Even Khloe Kardashian is said to be a fan. The ultra-creamy formula melts into skin for a luminous glow without chunky glitters or ashy tones.

Under Eye Brightening Corrector is a full-coverage concealer but it’s so much more than that. Backlight technology infuses peach- and apricot-toned color correctors with light-reflecting illuminators that seriously make dark circles a thing of the past.

Both have found their forever home! Each product launches in October, with Under Eye Brightening Corrector rolling out October 1 and Champagne Pop the week after. Check back here to shop your faves, below.

The Best Tweezers For Plucking & Priming Unruly Brows

Brows are subject to as many beauty trends as the way you draw your eyeliner. Whether you wear them brushed up and fluffy or trim and tame, grooming is part of the process. Of course, you could leave the shaping to the professionals and get them waxed or threaded to perfection, but a good ol’ set of tweezers will do the trick, too. You just have to know how to use them.

At the risk of sounding cliche, the first set of eyebrows that caught our collective attention (other than our own unruly pairs) were model Cara Delevingne’s natural set. TBH, they’re still our browspiration: bold, beautiful and unashamedly bushy. But here’s the thing: even if you prefer to let your brows run wild, there’s always one or two little hairs that go rogue and need a swift plucking. Even Chalamet brows (yes, Chalamet as in Timothée) require some level of grooming, while pared-back brows demand your undivided attention to keep them (literally) in line.

With a good pair of tweezers, you never have to leave the house to tame stubborn strays or combat rapid growth. These are the best pairs on to help you get and sustain the style you prefer.
