Just 50 Photos of Tantalizing Bubble Baths to Inspire Self-Care

Even if the majority of your days are spent working from home, any attempts at relaxation can feel like a side hustle. First, you have to rearrange the space in a way that separates work from play. Next, you have to create a daily schedule that keeps one task from running into the other. And finally (after the many to-dos I probably failed to mention), you have to declutter your mind of whatever is making it difficult to slow down. Thankfully, when all else fails, something as simple as a gang of relaxing bath products (and many, many bubbles) remind us to pencil in some self-care too.

Some of us prefer the hypnotizing sound of ASMR videos. I, on the other hand, live for copious amounts of bubble bath photos. Though making my teeny tub look like a spa-level oasis is le struggle, there are Instagrammers who clearly know how to set a scene and lean into their best angles. If you also need help getting in the mood for a steamy dip, take in a satisfying wave of bubble bath inspo and pick up a couple relaxing bath products for yourself along the way.

Unclench that jaw, relax those shoulders, take a deep breath and dive in.

17 Replay-Worthy Beauty ASMR Videos That Hypnotize and Satisfy

In times like these, even the smallest breaks from reality, like beauty ASMR videos, are a godsend. ASMR, short for “Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response,” refers to the tingly feeling that travels from the head down the spine in response to certain sounds, feelings or descriptions. And even if it’s a mere 15-second video, the opportunity to turn your brain off and focus on something inexplicably satisfying shouldn’t be missed.

While there are the classic ASMR videos of nails clicking against a microphone or slime being stretched and smushed, we’re partial to the beauty-centric ones. Makeup application in itself can be so satisfying—we’re talking precise lipstick application, the sweep of a highlighter brush onto a cheekbone, painting glossy eyeshadow onto a lid, swatching glittery pigments; the list goes on.

Of course, we can’t discount some of the more creative ways people have been creating ASMR content using beauty products, like mixing lipstick shades or pouring out bottles of nail polish to create swirls of color and glitter. Are you salivating just from reading this? Because I definitely am.

And then there’s the most obvious example of ASMR that we never knew we had in front of us all along: manicures. How many of us sit and watch, mesmerized by the perfect strokes of polish onto our nails during a trip to the salon? Whether it’s a classic manicure or a fancy work of nail art, there’s no denying nail polish application might be the most satisfying beauty ASMR moment of all.

So take a little break from your day and get ready to be hypnotized and relaxed by some of our favorite beauty ASMR videos below.

1. Face Painting

Leah McSweeney’s Tie Dye Sweatshirt With Tinsley

Real Housewives of New York Season 12 Episode 1 Fashion

Considering Leah McSweeney’s sweatshirt in this flashback scene with Tinsley is by a brand we’ve seen her wear a couple of times already (the first time being at BravoCon), I think it’s safe to say that she definitely has a thing for the edgy-cool label. And after last night’s episode I think it’s safe to say that we definitely have a thing for Leah McSweeney, whose edgy-cool personality and style is totally to dye for.

Tinsley Mortimer’s White Lace Confessional Dress

Tinsley Mortimer’s White Lace Confessional Dress

Real Housewives of New York Season 12 Fashion

The fact that Tinsley Mortimer owns this white lace dress that she wears in her RHONY confessionals this season is honestly not surprising at all, considering we know that she tends to buy the things she likes in multiple colours (we previously reported on her wearing it in yellow). And we’re just hoping for her (or Scott’s?) sake that her $2,263 crystal and faux-pearl embellished headband only comes in one colour, because we’re not sure they’d take coupons for that.

Fashionably,

Faryn

Gorgeous Head Wraps to Practice Twisting and Turning at Home

I’ve missed many trains and Uber pools because I just couldn’t give up trying a head wrap style outside of my go-to front knot. Even if I reached a point where it became clear that my goal was a lost cause, I would keep manipulating the fabric because doing my actual hair underneath would’ve taken longer. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t take the time to find a YouTube tutorial for assistance. However, since my commute no longer exists, grabbing hold of the best head wraps and going at it until I master something is more probable than ever.

My love for head wraps goes beyond using them as something to cover up a bad hair day. I love playing with different fabrics, wearing bold colors that I otherwise wouldn’t bat an eyelash at and most importantly, supporting the people who make them. Being that the head wrap is a pillar of hair maintenance and style for Black women, it should come as no surprise that the best options are F.U.B.U. (for us, by us). To that same point, I won’t discredit the affordable options from big-box retailers because sometimes, I just need to cut back on spending.

Ahead, seven of my favorite head wrap brands for practicing a new style (and killing time) at home.

The Wrap Life Classic Ruby Woah Flow

The Wrap Life.

The Wrap Life Classic Ruby Woah Flow Head Wrap

The Wrap Life is sitting pretty in the upper echelon of head wraps you can shop online. The brand tops itself with every collection and the latesta range of lightweight “Classic Flow” fabricsis beyond chic. Thankfully, there are still a few colors up for grabs, including this vibrant red that clearly pops with a matching lipstick.

ASOS leopard print headscarf

ASOS.

ASOS DESIGN Leopard Print Headscarf

“Head wrap” probably isn’t the first word or item that comes to mind when you think of big-box retailers like ASOS, but lo and behold, there is an impressive amount of options at affordable prices. You can snag a solid-colored wrap for under $20 or a patterned version for a few dollars more.

Fanm Djanm Cu Wrap

Fanm Djanm.

Fanm Djanm Cu Wrap

This small-batch brand is run by Paola Mathé (above), one of the smartest and most stylish women I follow on Instagram. Her ever-evolving collection of wraps is crafted by a small, dedicated team and the designs are so sophisticated and chic. For example, this edgy metallic head wrap almost looks like leather but is actually made of spandex that allows for more versatility and stretch (a major plus for people with locs or long hair).

The Urban Turbanista Jersey Knit Headwrap

The Urban Turbanista.

The Urban Turbanista Jersey Knit Head Wrap

For head wraps that look elevated but won’t cost an arm and a leg, The Urban Turbanista is your best bet. The online shop offers a wide range of fabrics and patterns, but my favorite is definitely the jersey knit head wrap that can be stretched and manipulated into just about any shape.

Buy: The Urban Turbanista Jersey Knit Headwrap $17.80

Cee Cee's Closet Kamaria Headwrap

Cee Cee’s Closet NYC.

Cee Cee’s Closet NYC Kamaria Head Wrap

These beginner-friendly head wraps are made in Nigeria with comfy cotton material and available in prints that will undoubtedly turn heads. If solid colors bore you, this brand alone will satisfy your need to stand out for every and any occasion.

Buy: Cee Cee’s Closet Kamaria Headwrap $25

Loza Tam Front Knot Turban

Loza Tam.

Loza Tam Front Knot Turban

On the other hand, if you can’t be bothered with twisting and turning and wrapping to find that perfectly comfortable look, Loza Tam’s luxe, satin-lined turbans are pre-tied. All you need to do is simply place one on top of your head. Plus, the added satin benefit ensures your hair won’t get dry and matted underneath.

Royal House of Wraps Le Vie en Violette Head Wrap

Royal House of Wraps.

Royal House of Wraps Le Vie en Violette Head Wrap

Prepare to feel blessed and highly favored when you put on one of these boldly-printed head wraps. Not only are the fabrics a hodge-podge of stunning shade combos; the wrap itself is also big enough to hold longer, thicker hairstyles.
