This ‘Magical’ Cream Provides ‘Drastic Results’ on Sun Damage & Signs of Aging—Grab It on Sale

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, STYLECASTER may receive an affiliate commission.

If you want to know the truth about a product, head to the reviews. You can always tell the difference between someone who’s, well, a bot, versus someone who’s genuinely excited about the product and just had to share it with the rest of the world. The latter is definitely the case with RoC’s five-in-one anti-aging moisturizer that has SPF built right in.

“I’m 47 and get told repeatedly that I have a baby face and look younger as I get older,” wrote one shopper. “This cream is my base and a staple.”

As if that review didn’t already sell me, there’s an even better one right underneath it: “This magical potion has single handedly done more for my middle aged, sun damaged skin, than anything else I’ve ever tried.”

Multiple customers report that this cream not only helped prevent future signs of aging, thanks to the SPF 30 and vitamin complex in the formula, but it actually helped to reverse existing signs of aging and damaged skin.

I’m a beauty writer and I can definitely attest: There aren’t many products on the market that can claim to do that, so you should definitely pay attention to this RoC option. The brand owes its success to its Hexyl-R Complex that contains a mix of lipids and antioxidants that targets the signs of aging four times more than competitors. Because the formula also includes shea butter, it’s gentle and hydrating on your skin, too. It can be used daily and even reapplied multiple times throughout the day after you’ve been exposed to excessive sunlight to prevent further harm.

One shopper said the results were so drastic, they immediately regretted not taking before-and-after photos. “I look 10 years younger, they added. “Just take my word for it is awesome.” If you’re looking for a product with drastic results, make sure to take your own before photos so you can compare after you’ve been using this product for a few weeks.

“People guess my age 15 years younger than I am,” wrote another shopper. “I’ve been using it about four years. Wrinkles, sags and bags are GONE! Skin firmed up, a dark patch on my jawline just vanished!” There are so many testimonies from people who were shocked that the cream helped to clear up existing damage on the skin.

The five-in-one capabilities the label promises includes improving discolorations, firming the skin, reducing dullness and restoring radiance, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and using SPF to prevent future damage. If you’re looking for an easy product to reach for and keep in your bag this summer, shoppers say you can’t go wrong with this cream that’s currently on sale for just $19.

Kenya Moore’s Red One Piece Swimsuit in Jamaica

Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 14 Episode 15 Fashion

The Jamaica days continue this week on RHOA and so does the drama fashion. Kenya Moore rocked a red one piece swimsuit for a day of what looks to be some sort of bamboo boat riding. Even though I don’t really know what that is I do know this suit is chic af. And considering it’s still in stock and in plenty of colors I think it’s necessary to have one bamboo boated shipped to our homes.

Sincerely Stylish,

Jess

Moving from Retirement Perceptions to Retirement Realities: 3 Tips for an Easier Journey

retirement realities

We’ve seen the brochures. You know the ones – smiling, gray-haired couples are playing tennis, having dinner on a patio, toasting during a midnight sail. Celebrating The Perfect Retirement.

But is the entire retired world lounging at the golf course 24/7? Is that everyone’s reality?

My vote is “not so much.” Some images and perceptions aren’t valid for everyone. We aren’t all going to be pictured on those brochures. And even those of us who could be may not be up for a never-ending vacation.

I’m a big fan of leisure, but the conversations around retirement are changing. In 2022, everyone’s retirement looks different. That’s not only okay, it’s liberating.

As we step away from some long-held perceptions about retirement, we move toward some new realities. We open up to possibilities that are specific to each individual.

It can feel exhilarating and a little daunting, going out there to forge a new path without a brochure. It helps to be grounded in a few truths.

You Can’t Move Forward Until You Let Go

One of the most common issues facing new retirees is how to leave their work identity behind. Releasing the role you had is a retirement reality that can’t be avoided.

The somewhat sudden inability to explain who you are within the context of your job can leave you feeling at a loss. But it’s that time between who you were and who you are becoming where you’ll find your footing and mine for gold

Mourn any loss you feel. Accept that this “time between” is a little scary. And lean into letting go.

Everything in Its Own Time

Checking off boxes on a to-do list is gratifying. But a little bit of box-checking goes a long way. We won’t spend our entire retired life getting things done (remember leisure??).

Another retirement reality is that it can be hard to figure out what to do with your time. A retired life can last for decades. How do we continue growing? Where do we want to put our energy? How do we figure that out?

Take a few deep breaths and remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day. Your retired life won’t take shape in a day either. You actually create it one decision, one choice at a time.

Take that time; trust that time. Find the Joy in that time!

Don’t Tell Yourself Scary Stories

Bette Davis famously said that “old age ain’t no place for sissies.” Let’s face it, aging presents us with challenges we’ve never dealt with.

An undeniable retirement reality is that we have a new set of concerns, including finances, health, and staying connected to other people. But here’s the good news: if you’re reading this, you must be up for the task… because you’re still here!

As we craft our individual, unique retired lives, we address our individual, unique retirement challenges using our particular gifts and skills. We draw upon our resilience, our experience, and our support systems. Whatever it is, we can and will figure it out.

But it’s hard not to become doubtful, worried, or even frightened.

So, as you move forward on your retirement journey, it helps to take things one step, one moment at a time. Notice if you’re heading toward catastrophic thinking, and save any scary stories for when (or if) they actually happen. Or for sitting around the campfire during a leisurely vacation.

Retired life is yours to design. If you could create your own brochure or bumper sticker or billboard, what would it say? How many versions would there be? More good news: you get to decide.

What are some retirement realities you’re facing? How are you dealing with them? How are you creating your unique retired life?

How to Accept Your Shorter Runway

accept shorter runway

Once we pass age 60, we know the “runway” ahead of us is shorter than it used to be. Yet at the same time we probably have more free time and more resources available to have fun. Raising children and our other obligations are mostly behind us. So, how do we come to grips with our shorter futures and really enjoy ourselves?

More Yesterdays than Tomorrows

Yes, we have more yesterdays than tomorrows. And that’s the title of a story by K.M. Waldvogel in our new book about how you can develop an attitude of gratitude and make the most of your remaining years.

Kathleen and her husband sold their house and were downsizing, so that meant downsizing their possessions as well. They found a way to make all that decluttering a pleasant process, sharing memories of their years together as they sorted through their stuff. The photos, in particular, were a joy to review, and they laughed at some and felt pride at others as they watched how their sons had grown up.

Kathleen says, “After a while, my husband stood up, deciding to tackle another project. Before he left the room, he turned to me. He was silent for a moment, and then he squeezed my shoulder and kissed the top of my head. ‘Looking through all this cements the fact that we are moving on to another chapter in our lives. We have more yesterdays than tomorrows.’ There was no sadness in his voice, no regrets. He simply stated a realization.”

She says, “He was right. We had been blessed with our yesterdays. They included laughter, celebrations, and excitement. Birthdays, graduations, accomplishments, family vacations, anniversaries, and so much more. Moments of sadness are sprinkled throughout. Overall, though, our memories bring smiles to our faces and contentment to our hearts.”

You Still Get to Enjoy All Those Yesterdays

Yes, our yesterdays are behind us, but we have all the memories of them to relive as often as we’d like. We still own all those yesterdays. It’s not like they happened and they’re gone. They’re still a big part of our lives and provide us with lots of pleasure. We can eat our cake and have it too!

Think about it: if you’re 65 now, as I am, you have 65 years of memories that you get to review as often and whenever you want, and you still have lots of new memories to make as you move forward. Those past years are still very much part of your life.

In the case of the Waldvogels, they were able to downsize for their future, to make that future easier, but in the process they were able to fill their memory banks with all the wonders of their past. Those memories wouldn’t take up any room in their new smaller home.

Instead of focusing on your shrinking future, you can get ahead of it. Confront the reality, prepare for it, and then get back to living your life with vigor and enthusiasm. Try new things, go new places, make new relationships, and seize new opportunities. You’ll be making even more memories as you add on to your list of “yesterdays.”

Let’s start a conversation. Are you sad that you have more yesterdays than tomorrows? Or have you come up with a way to embrace your past and keep enjoying it even as you move forward with the rest of your life?

3 Keys to the Fountain of Youth (If You Dare to Plunge into It)

Fountain-of-Youth

Wouldn’t it be great if there was an actual
fountain of youth? What if you could just walk up to it with your paper cup,
dip it in in the water, and take a big drink? Nirvana, right? Well, no such
luck!

But there are keys to living a life that is
full of the joy and the intensity and the excitement that we had when we were
young. The keys just have a few age spots on them! These are the areas of life
that keep me on my toes.

Fresh Air

For so many years, I worked out at the same
studio, week in and week out, all year long. Several years ago, I was a pretty
avid cyclist but had an accident and didn’t go back to it. This summer I
decided that whatever I did for exercise and leisure activity during the
hot-weather months, it was going to be outside.

So, I went to the pool a few times. I walked my dog to the park – not just around the neighborhood – more often than I had in years passed. And, wait for it, I got myself back on my bike going for a fairly long ride about once a week.

That time spent outside has allowed me to
connect with the world in a way that I don’t find anywhere else, certainly not
in my torturous workout class. It is a mind clearing activity for me and a
something-else-clearing for my dog!

I also bike a good amount, and it makes me feel like I am able to continue an activity that is healthy and enjoyable, and I even ride to the grocery store, etc., so I feel like I am using my time wisely.

Stay Current

I know technology is hard. I know that it is
different from the way we grew up, but I say this in all honesty: when I hear
someone in my age group talk about how they hate technology, I think about
their smart TV, their digital doorbell that they use to keep themselves and
their packages safe, the backup help on their vehicles, and I wonder how they
can say that?

Technology isn’t the ruination of our
country, and those who say it sound ancient. Really!

Progress is just that, progress. And while it
isn’t all good, it has improved our lives and to pretend otherwise makes us
appear to be out of touch. Out of touch people, no matter their actual age, are
not young in mind, and are not fun to be with.

You don’t need to work at Apple, but you need
to show an interest in what’s current and you need to want to learn about it in
order to comment on it intelligently and not be left behind by your youthful
friends.

Learn to Handle Loss

A friend in his 70s told me this a couple of
years ago, and a day doesn’t go by that I don’t hear it running through my
head:

“Aging is full of loss, and if we don’t learn to handle loss we will struggle to live a happy life through our later years. And, if you can’t handle it now, you had better figure it out quickly. If not, you will spend the next couple of decades in a state of depression and shock!”

He couldn’t be more spot-on. Really, is there
any portion of our lives in our 60s, 70s, and beyond that doesn’t have a loss
component?

Consider the loss of standing in the
community through retirement, the loss of friends and family to death, and the
loss of our own physical abilities as the years go by. That can all make you
feel like throwing in the towel!

Without figuring out a way to cope with loss,
we can go through life depressed, sad, and grouchy. No one under 50 wants to be
around that person.

But, if you can come to grips with the
constant loss you face, you can become a more pleasant friend and relative, and
be a little happier yourself. Do that and you will feel less burdened, which,
in turn, will definitely make you feel younger.

What makes you feel young? What makes you
feel old? Do you care how old you feel? Are you ready to do something about it?
