Tonight the #RHOC ladies land in Amsterdam and they all go different routes for their travel day looks. Tamra Judge goes for a a cool girl vibe with her cropped leather moto jacket and I love. Your 60+ Wellbeing Reset: Skip the Old; Embrace the Bold!
Posted by Admin01 | Oct 17, 2025 | Uncategorised |

Most people think turning 60 is the beginning of slowing down – more pills, more aches, more “that’s just aging.” Yet, 60 can be your reset button. It can be the moment you feel more alive, more energetic, and more yourself than you did a decade ago.
I’ve seen it in my own life. In my mid-60s, I leaned into a passion I’d always had for natural healing and helping people and animals and went back to school to study health coaching. I opened a practice for people and pets, and I’ve not looked back. Today, my Think and Grow Young
Method is in book form, too, and helping people live healthier, more vibrant lives.
Aging with that kind of vital spark doesn’t usually happen by accident. It’s a body-mind-spirit affair. And science shows there’s one surprising player – sometimes called the body’s “hidden organ” – that acts like mission control for how we age, repair, and even reverse signs of decline. It’s your gut microbiome, and what’s happening there sets off a cascade that impacts your energy, immunity, mood, and even how quickly or slowly your cells wear down.
The Hidden Organ
Your gut microbiome is an entire ecosystem living inside you – trillions of tiny bacteria, fungi, and other microbes mostly hanging out in your intestines. Far from being background players, they’re like little factories and traffic controllers at the same time. They help you break down food, absorb nutrients, balance hormones, fight off infections, and even communicate with your brain.
When this community is thriving, you feel more energetic, clear-headed, and resilient. When it’s struggling, you feel the difference – fatigue, mood dips, and that “off” feeling that makes aging seem heavier than it has to be.
So How Do We Influence How Healthy Our Gut Microbiome Is?
Think of it this way: if your microbes were houseguests, what kind of host would you be? Are you feeding them nourishing meals – or handing out junk food? Do they live in a house with soothing music playing in the background – or one where a loud action movie is blasting nonstop?
A happy gut thrives on fiber-rich foods (vegetables, legumes, seeds) and loves the addition of fermented foods like kefir or sauerkraut. Hydration matters, too – water is what keeps things moving. And here’s something most people don’t realize: your gut “listens” to your emotions. Chronic stress, worry, or poor sleep send signals that ripple through your microbiome, shifting the balance of good and bad bacteria.
Here’s why this matters: about 70% of your immune system is based in your gut lining. The stronger and more balanced your inner ecosystem, the more resilient your defenses are. Which means fewer seasonal bugs dragging you down, faster recovery when you do get sick, and more consistent energy day to day.
Shifting Our Aging Well Mindset
And that brings me to one of my favorite ways to think about health: Want to age well? Think like a gardener, not a mechanic.
Most of us are trained to push hard until something “breaks” and then scramble to fix it. But the body isn’t a machine – it’s a garden. And gardens don’t need repair, they need care. When you water, feed the soil, and pull weeds regularly, vitality shows up naturally.
Mind Mastery: What’s Going on Upstairs
Ever notice how your thoughts can either charge your batteries or drain them dry? You wake up thinking “Ugh, I didn’t sleep well, today’s going to be rough,” and sure enough – you’re tired all day. But swap that for, “Okay, I’ve got a walk, a cup of tea, and some sunlight coming; today’s going to be a great day!” and suddenly your body follows suit.
The brain and body talk constantly, and your mindset is the translator. Stress hormones don’t just stay in your head – they cascade into your gut and your immune system, making you feel older than you are. The good news? Simple practices flip the channel: a minute of intentional 4-7-8 breathing before a meal, jotting down one thing you’re grateful for, or visualizing the kind of day you want instead of the one you dread.
It’s not about perfection. It’s about catching yourself and asking: is this thought making me older or younger?
Immunity: Your Silent Shield
Your immune system is like that quiet friend who doesn’t ask for much – until you stop answering their texts. Then they let you know in a big way. After 60, keeping your defenses strong is less about complicated regimens and more about consistency: daily movement, real food, steady sleep, and yes – laughter counts too.
Think about the last time you belly-laughed so hard you had to grab your side. That wasn’t just fun; it was medicine. Laughter lowers stress hormones and boosts immune cells. Sunlight, hydration, and rest do the same. No magic pill required – just the things your body has always wanted.
And here’s one more piece many of us overlook: community. Having people to walk with, talk with, or simply share a meal with keeps your nervous system calmer, your heart healthier, and your immune system stronger. Isolation, on the other hand, has been linked to higher rates of illness, depression, and even earlier mortality. Community is not just “nice to have” as we age – it’s a powerful part of staying vibrant and resilient.
The 3–5 Keys You Can Start Today
If you want to reset your 60+ life, start here:
- Add one new fiber-rich food to your day. Your microbes will cheer.
- Swap five minutes of scrolling for five minutes of deep breathing. Your nervous system will thank you.
- Drink a full glass of water as soon as you wake up. Your body naturally dehydrates overnight.
- Step outside and soak up natural morning light – even five minutes helps. Early sunlight resets your body’s internal clock, boosting energy, mood, and sleep quality.
- Choose one thought tomorrow morning that lights you up. Think of it, say it out loud, and even jot it down repeatedly throughout the day. The mind learns new ways of thinking through constant, spaced repetition. Use it or lose it.
- Bonus: Call a friend and share a laugh today. Community keeps your body and spirit resilient.
Aging isn’t a downhill slide. It’s a chance to reset, to bring more energy, clarity, connection, and joy into this next chapter. When your gut is balanced, you control your mind, and your immune system is thriving, aging feels less like decline and more like freedom. Add in the spark of community, and you don’t just feel younger – you live younger.
If this resonates, I go deeper into these three pillars – The Gut Reset, Mind Mastery (we become what we think about all day), and Supercharging the Immune System – with more tools and practices in my book Think and Grow Young
: The Life-Changing Program to Reverse Aging, Live Vibrantly, and Reclaim Your Youth. And I’m excited to share that the audiobook is coming in early November, for those who prefer to listen – perfect for your morning walk with your favorite furry health coach!
Let’s Have a Conversation:
How do you take care of your gut microbiome? Have you noticed any changes in your wellbeing when you neglect your microbiome?
